Wy’east UU Board Meeting Minutes 06/12/26

Reports:
Treasurers Report: Accepted
Larry reported that there were 30 pledges for 2026-27. With an increase of $8000 from last year.
The special pledge from a member continues this year to fund the marketing and web site efforts to increase membership and grow the RE program.
Debra reports that The Wy’east UU employees now are receiving their checks by direct deposit
D’On will find and employ some temporary help from someone( who is currently working with other UU churches) with the accounting for Wy’east UU
Social Justice: no report
Membership Report: Accepted
Linda B reports that Jane Moore has resigned as a member. Other members who no longer pledge or attend services will be contacted by Linda B.
Accessibility Report:
Willow reports that the video on line and assignment to break out rooms continues to be an issue. Willow suggested that if there are 6 or less people on line that only one break out room is necessary. Leslie will follow up with Eddy.
Report on the Special Project:
Linda M has sent the draft of the new web site to board members.
The project is progressing
Ministers Report:
Rev Leslie held 3 listening circles with Wy’east UU members. . She was very pleased with the ideas discussed to further our mission. She is in the process of analyzing and synthesizing the results. The main points were as a small congregation we value community building, pride in living our values, being together in community, engagement in worship services, enhancing our music, and engaging with the broader community.
Delegate to GA:
Rev Leslie as a delegate will tune into the business meetings.
We don’t have any other volunteers to be a delegate at this time.
Larger Pacific Region:
We don’t have a member representative , but Rev Leslie will bring more information about this.
Report on May 31st Fifth Sunday activity
Larry reported that 17 adults and 3 children participated in the SOLVE cleanup in the CfPA area. They collected 10 five gallon buckets of trash ( 100 pounds)! It gave them an opportunity to talk with community members about Wy’east UU
Transition of Board members
Larry will facilitate the CCU check signing ability for Kendra Staley and Eileen Watters and removal of check signing privileges by Debra Thomsen and Willow Dixon as of 07/01/2026
Linda B will send notice to Gigi authorizing the change of the board email and board files in google doc from Debra T and Willow D to Kendra S and Eileen W effective 07/01/2026
Linda B will request a new Zoom link to be used for Board meetings
Linda B will ensure that Kendra S and Eileen W have access to the Wy’east UU website
Debra Tomsen’s board term expires 06/30/26 and Willow Sage Dixon has resigned as of 06/30/26
Debra thanked the board for their good work on the board this past year and the board members expressed their appreciation for Debra’s leadership.
Positions on 2026-27 board member positions were discussed and decided upon:
Linda Burk- Moderator
Kendra Staley- -Vice Moderator
Eileen Watters- Secretary
Larry Burt -Treasurer
At large member- Andy Lasnik
It was decided that board meetings will continue on the 2nd Friday of the month at 12:30 pm
The next meeting will be 07/10/2026
Outreach:
Rev Leslie stated that we will have a table at the CfPA Block Part to be held 6/27/2026
Linda M and Rev Leslie plan to meet with Amber to discuss this.
